A COVID-19 inspired collection

A curated collection of photographs captured during the initial UK COVID lockdown between March and June 2020. All of the photos were captured in Bournemouth and the surrounding area during government-sanctioned walks, respectfully abiding by the regulations of distancing and reduced exposure to the outdoors. Overall, this delivered an additional challenge, which essentially limited my shooting times to morning runs or evening walks and hence a distinctly warm feeling is largely portrayed across the images. The purpose of this project was twofold, aiming to both:

  • document the global pandemic and its effect on a more local area

  • evoke emotions of solitude and emptiness, which were felt by many during this time.
